Icarus/Company/Founders

J. Alexander Batista · Andrew Meeks

The people accountable for your engagement are the people who own the work.

Two founders, two disciplines, one accountable pair. Every Icarus engagement runs under direct ownership from the first conversation through delivery, never handed off once the sale is done.

J. Alexander Batista

Founder and Chief Technology Officer

Over ten years of experience across healthcare, including critical care as a BSN-RN, before that work moved into data and engineering. Clinical systems rarely fail because the code is wrong. They fail because nobody designing them has stood at the bedside charting while caring for a patient who is deteriorating.

He owns the technical direction of every engagement. His BSN-RN credential and Registered Nurse license can be independently verified through the issuing board, with verification details available on request.

Andrew Meeks

Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer

A background in finance together with commercial experience across healthcare and government: markets defined by long procurement cycles, rigorous compliance standards, and decisions that pass through many stakeholders before anyone signs.

He leads sales strategy, revenue operations, and client development. Proposals are argued from the numbers, and the operational constraints a client actually works within are treated as part of the problem rather than discovered later.

Service

Accountability was a professional standard before it was a marketing line.

Alexander served as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy. Military service and critical care share a discipline that consulting talks about more often than it practices: you are responsible for the decision, for the people affected by it, and for the outcome, and you say so plainly when something is wrong.

It is the reason this firm publishes prices, names the person accountable, and will recommend the smaller engagement when the evidence supports it.

What this means in practice

Operating facts, not adjectives.

You talk to the person who decides

The consultation, the technical assessment, and the architecture decisions run through the same accountable owner. There is no handoff between the people who sell and the people who build.

Clinical judgment on healthcare work

Healthcare engagements are reviewed by a BSN-RN with bedside experience rather than translated through a business analyst. Workflow problems get identified as workflow problems.

Advice that can cost us the sale

If the evidence says the smaller engagement is the right one, that is what gets recommended. Pricing starts at published figures precisely so that conversation can happen without a negotiation attached.

U.S.-led, integrated delivery

Client leadership and technical accountability sit in the United States. Engineering capacity is drawn from an integrated global team working to the same standards and review process.
